Incidentally, do you perform roleplay in _Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn_? Currently, I plan on a Japanese world there; however, I am interested in roleplay of Lyserg Diether, an _anime_ character from "Shaman King"; however, I know no fellow role-players, and am tired of putting up with Internet slang and abusive players.

Compared with most other FFXIV:ARR players whom I have encountered, you seem to be much better at writing, and you also seem interested in role-play.

Personally, I am trying to find fellow role-players who are intelligent writers/role-players who do not use Internet slang and are primarily interested in lore and role-play.

What are your interests, if I may ask?

I don't roleplay in game on the servers too often, but I do it occasionally with my roommates! I usually do most of mine here on Dreamwidth, though. There is a pretty decent community of rpers on this site, and someone has actually kindly put together a Getting Started guide to help people new to this roleplay format get integrated. It explains things a lot better than I could attempt to, I'm sure, but if you have any additional questions or need any clarifications on anything, I will do my best to answer them as well!

As for my interests, well, two of them are roleplaying and FFXIV... I also like watching anime, studying Japanese, drawing (though I rarely have the opportunity to do this much anymore), and puzzle games! How about you? :)

In my case, I occasionally write poetry (especially haiku poetry) on the side, and also perform solo role-play in the following titles:

* Final Fantasy XI Online (as "Lyserg" of "Shaman King")
* Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (as "Lyserg Diethel" of "Shaman King")
* Secret World Legends (as "Lyserg Diethel" of "Shaman King")
* The Elder Scrolls Online (as "L Lawliet" of "Death Note")
* The Lord of the Rings Online (as "Lysernir," the Sindarese translation of "Lyserg" of "Shaman King")
* Dragon Quest XI (in Japanese) (as 『リゼルグ』 ("Lyserg") of "Shaman King")

The problem with performing solo role-play in these titles is that most other players seem to be more interested in merely finding fellow party members for raids than in discussing lore or role-play. Trying to find other players who share my focus seems to be extremely difficult.

"Sea of Time," a.k.a. "Once Upon a Program"

Incidentally, here is the first canto of a sample poem that I originally wrote in 2003 describing my struggles with computer science and programming, entitled "Sea of Time," a.k.a. "Once Upon a Program," in a style loosely based on the form and meter of La Vita Nuova and Divina Commedia (known as The Divine Comedy in English), both by the Italian poem Dante Alighieri.

I actually did work on a lot of poetry when I was younger, though it's been a long time since I've written anything outside of roleplay, really. Even for that, it has been some time, and I'm just now sort of getting back into it.

I am rather fond of my training ground at Camp Bronze Lake. The water there was warm and pleasant for the long hours spent perfecting my technique.

[It also helped that it was incredibly shallow... Probably no one had the heart to tell him that it wasn't exactly meant for swimming.]
